Part-Time Clinical Psychologist Required
An increase in referrals based on effective treatment outcomes has lead to an expansion of the practice and an opportunity to be a valued and respected member of this small, growing team (currently 2 clinical psychologists and one client liaison/admin officer). An opportunity to grow in this role, and, over time provide supervision for other psychologists and become a clinical director, is possible for the right contractor.
Job Description
Commencing part time (1 day or 2 half days p/w minimum), as a contract clinical psychologist, with a view, if wanted, to build to 3 to 4 days/week (can keep as just 1 day per week if preferred) the suitable candidate will conduct assessments and implement psychological therapy, as well as liaise with other treating health professionals by phone, email and reports. Although evidence-based approaches (in particular CBT and ACT) within an integrative model are valued, and at times required (majority of referrals are Medicare based), freedom to choose the modalities you wish to work with is encouraged. Flexible hours/days. Peer supervision/case consultation, referrals provided.
Essential criteria
- Fully registered with the Australian Psychology Board
- Registered with Medicare as a clinical psychologist
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Competence in CBT, some willingness/competence with other therapies in particular ACT
- Clinical experience with a wide range of presentations/issues (possibly medicare work also)
- Able to work autonomously + part of a team with enthusiasm, reliability + flexibility
- Excellent written + oral communication skills
Desirable criteria
- Experience in working with adults, couples, children, adolescents, families, aspergers, eating disorders, for individual and family work, court reports. Own Laptop.
